Peter Pinkney Prevatt was Richard White's second cousin, four times
removed.
Peter Pinkney Prevatt was a second cousin of my great great grandmother Clarissa Prevatt Davis. He was born in Robeson County, North Carolina, in 1836, and married Mary Elizabeth Mitchell there on 1 March 1857. He was enrolled as a private in the "Clay Valley Rangers," Company E, 51st North Carolina Infantry Regiment, in New Hanover County, North Carolina, on 25 May 1863. He was reported sick in the hospital in July-August 1863, returned to duty September-October 1863, sick in a hospital at Petersburg, Virginia, in March-April 1864 and present for duty on all surving rosters which end with December 1864. Peter P. Prevatt died in Robeson County, North Carolina, about 1897.
