Jordan Prevatt

Jordan Prevatt was Richard White's second cousin, four times removed.

Jordan Prevatt was the second cousin of my great great grandmother Clarissa Prevatt Davis.  He was born in Robeson County, North Carolina, on 1 September 1832.  He was enrolled in the "Clay Valley Rangers," Company E, 51st North Carolina Infantry Regiment, at Lumberton, Robeson County, North Carolina, on 28 February 1862.  He was reported as absent without leave in November-December 1862 but had returned to duty by March-April 1862.  He was reported as absent-sick from May-August 1863 and reported absent without leave on 1 September 1863.  He returned to duty on or about 20 December 1863 and was captured by Union troops at Fort Harrison, Virginia, on 30 September 1864 and was incarcerated at the Union prisoner of war camp at Point Lookout, Maryland from 5 October 1864 to 3 June 1865.  He died in Robeson County, North Carolina, on 18 July 1920.
