Luke R. Rehberg

Luke R. Rehberg is doubly related to Richard White.  He is his great-great-great uncle and also the husband of his great-great-great aunt, Julia Shirey.

From various sources I have pieced together the name Luke Louis Riley Rehberg, often referred to as "L.R."

Luke R. ("L. R.") Rehberg, fifth son of Fred and Sophie Rehberg, was born (probably in Decatur County) Georgia, on 8 August 1845.  He enlisted in Company K, 12th Georgia State Troops in August 1863, and surrendered in Atlanta, Georgia in April 1865.  No records of this unit are known to exist.  He applied for and received a Confederate pension from the state of Georgia starting in 1919.  His pension application was supported by a sworn affidavit from a fellow member of Company K, Georgia State Troops, Henry D. Connell.  Luke R. Rehberg died in Ochlocknee (Thomas County), Georgia, on 13 April 1936, and was buried at Little Ochlocknee Cemetery.
