S. B. Shehee was enrolled in the 2d Florida Cavalry, Company D, on 5 March 1862 at Tallahassee.  He was promoted to 2nd corporal on 8 May 1862 and to 1st corporal in mid-1863.  He was present on the last roll and paroled at Tallahassee on 18 May 1865.  He was 5 feet 5 inches tall with blue eyes and light skin and hair.  Source: Hartman and Coles, Biographical Rosters of Florida's Confederate and Union Soldiers, 1861-1865, vol.
