Joseph White family, 1870 U.S. Census, Thomas Co., GA

The image above shows the entry for the Joseph White family in the U.S. Census for Thomas County, Georgia, Post Office Thomasville, date of enumeration 15 Aug 1870.  To the best I am able to decipher, it says:

White, Joseph - age 45 - Male - White - Farmer (and on a part of the page not shown here, his assets were shown as $200.00)

-----, Winny - age 45 - Female - White - Housekeeper

-----, William - age 18 - Male - White - Farm Labor

-----, Catherine - age 17 - Female - White

-----, James - age 16 - Male - White - Farm Labor

-----, Henrietta - age 14 - Female - White

-----, Thomas - age 12 - Male - White

-----, Lenora - age 10 - Female - White

-----, Franklin - age 7 - Male - White

-----, Ellsbury - age 5 - Male - White

-----, Mary - age 3 - Female - White

-----, Charles - age 1 - Male - White

I believe that the Willliam White shown above is my great grandfather,  but I have have no proof that.  My great grandfather, and his wife Sarah Spear(s)/Carter/Norton/White both died in Thomas County, near Boston, not later than 1885, leaving my grandfather a five-year old orphan who was raised by his half-siblings Hattie Norton and James H. Carter.

My great grandparents are clearly identifiable in the 1880 census for Thomas County, Georgia, shown as follows:

White, William - age 28 - Laborer 1

-----, Sarah - age 302 - wife- Keeping House

Norton, Mary - age 13 - stepdaughter - At School

------, Hattie - age 10 - stepdaughter - At School

------, William - age 5 - son

------, Sarah - age 4 - daughter

------, John - age 2 - son

------, Charles - age 4 months - son

NOTES:

1.  All persons in the household, and both of their parents, were shown as having been born in Georgia.

2.   In the 1870 census, listed as Sarah Norton and living next to Robert Spear, she already had a daughter shown as 9 years old, so simple mathematics indicates that at least a few years were shaved off of her age in the 1880 census.
